The conference begins with an evening wine and cheese social on Friday, June 4th. Presentations will take place throughout the day on June 5th at the Quw'utsun' Conference Centre, and the conference will conclude on Sunday June 6th with a half‐day field trip to Quamichan Lake and Somenos Lake.
The goal of this conference is to bring as many provincially based lake stewardship agencies and associations together to inform and promote the protection and management of lakes in BC. The conference also offers economic benefit to the surrounding community by drawing on local businesses to provide everything from wine and catering to hand‐made speaker's gifts. The Quamichan Watershed Stewardship Committee (Quamichan Stewards) and the Somenos Marsh Wildlife Society are graciously co‐hosting the 2010 event. The Quamichan Stewards formed in 2006 and are working to finalize a Watershed Management Plan for Quamichan Lake. The Somenos Marsh Wildlife Society consists of many individuals who, for more than two decades, have worked together to preserve the Somenos Marsh.
