The Tie Lake Property Owners' Association (TLPOA) was formed over the 2005 Thanksgiving weekend to "
monitor, preserve, promote and foster water quality and quantity and safe recreational practices of Tie Lake". Today it has a membership of some 70 property owners. Annual meetings are held on the Monday of the Victoria Day weekend. On the Saturday of the same weekend the residents undertake a project to gather and dispose of debris that has accumulated along the lake shoreline and adjacent roads over the winter.
In the two years since its formation TLPOA has participated in the BCLSS Level 1 water quality and Ice-in/Ice-out monitoring programs. During 2007 a more advanced program of water quality monitoring and analysis was initiated. Other projects include: erection of four new "Please Keep Tie Lake Safe" information signs at various locations around the lake, email circulation of a newsletter on a regular basis and active participation in local crime and fire prevention programs.
