The Heffley Lake Community Association was formed in Dec. 2004 and currently has 65 members (or about two thirds of the lake property owners)

Mandate: "The Lake Stewardship Committee sees its mandate as protecting, monitoring and enhancing water quality, wild-life habitat and lake-shore visual aesthetics."

Activities:

1. Water testing, both Secchi and Level two (with the Min of Env)
2. Annual TD Canada Trust lake shore clean-up
3. Ongoing meetings with the Ministry of Environment and other ministries regarding items of mutual interest.
4. Education eg. loon and other bird nesting sites, boating behavior, shore line protection etc.
5. Attending annual BCLSS conferences
6. Workshops led by local experts eg. bird watching
7. Monitoring public access campsites and boat launches
