STRATEGIC PLAN

Goals and Objectives

1.     Organize and participate in environmental projects.

 

Ø      Objectives:

·      Produce a LakeKeepers training course.

·      Facilitate the Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program

·      Organize the annual Secchi Disk Dip-in

·      Develop Aquatic plant mapping program

 

 

2.     Offer and participate in conferences, courses, seminars, and events throughout British Columbia.

 

Ø      Objectives:

·      Organize one annual lake conference to be held in a different part of the province each year.

·       Hold the Annual General Meeting of the society in conjunction with the annual lake conference.

·      Continue to participate in and organize community based programs

 

3.     Provide tools and resource materials on lake related issues

 

Ø      Objectives:

·      Maintain and update the website.

·      Provide members of the BCLSS with a quarterly newsletter and a monthly email newsletter

·      Continue the development of the BCLSS library

 

4.     Provide support and foster communication, linkage, and networking for lake protection groups throughout British Columbia.

 

Ø      Objectives:

·       Share knowledge, information and resources whenever possible among citizens, scientists, environmental professionals, and government agencies.

·       Maintain professional staff with a high standard of skills, knowledge and public presence.

 

5.     Strengthen the growth of the BC Lake Stewardship Society

 

Ø      Objectives:

·     Actively seek new memberships

·     Increase sponsorship support

·     Continue to update the definition of roles and responsibilities of staff members

·     Recruit new board members

·     Research and pursue new funding

·     Raise public awareness of the BCLSS through a marketing plan
