Call for Abstracts

The BC Lake Stewardship Society (BCLSS) encourages you to submit your abstracts for our 2023 Annual Conference to be held in Victoria, BC, September 23 & 24, 2023.

Conference theme:

The BIG Three: Climate Change, Introduced Species, & Eutrophication
Solutions from Traditional Knowledge and Western Science Perspectives on Lake Stewardship

We will prioritize oral presentations that encompass one or more topics of the above theme. Speakers will be allocated 20 minute time slots with an additional 10 minutes for questions. We would particularly like to encourage stewardship groups to share their achievements and projects

We encourage abstract submissions for poster sessions as well. All posters will be displayed at the conference.

About the BCLSS
The primary mission of BCLSS is to act as a resource, communication, and information network among scientists, environmental professionals, lakeshore residents, the general public, First Nations, and government agencies in order to preserve, protect and restore lakes in British Columbia. The BCLSS programs include training courses that educates lake stewards on issues such as land-use impacts, lake ecology and limnology, as well as providing support to on-going stewardship activities that involves environmental monitoring, water quality management and the collection of vital data, essential information for the continuing preservation of healthy lakes throughout British Columbia.
